Dewdrop: How can I use my logo that is a different color?

The Dewdrop theme works best with light color/white logos in PNG format (transparent background). If you have a version of your logo that is light or white then loading that up through Appearance >> Customize is the best way to go.

If you do not have a version of your logo like that, there is some code I can share below that can lighten the “dark overlay” on the header image so that a color/dark logo will show up better. The numbers in underline are the ones you want to pay attention to – and change to find that sweet spot. The lower the number, the brighter the overlay will get – the higher the number the darker it will get. So 0.2 is lighter than .08…you get the idea! The first number (0.2) controls the lower part of the image and the second one (0.25) controls the higher part (it is essentially a gradient, so you can control the opacity of the top/bottom separately).

.header-hero {
  background-image: linear-gradient(0deg, rgba(0,0,0,0.2) 50%, rgba(0,0,0,0.25) 100%), url(https://dewdrop.bymasselyn.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/alyssa-strohmann-CGXxpcUrhdo-unsplash.jpg);
}

**You can also just use text for your “logo” – in case you don’t have a logo designed. When going to Appearance >> Customize >> Site Identity – the information you type into the “Site Title” field will show up at the top of your site . The current font, Google Nanum Myeongjo is being used througout the site including the Site Title. It has a nice easy to read style, but also professional and elegant looking.
