WordPress + Elementor Tidbits - You might find an answer to a ? that has stumped you

Mosaic: Setup Social Navigation Bar

By default, when you start setting up Mosaic, the sidebar navigation might show your main navigation links. This happens if you only have one menu set up in your site.

You will want to create a secondary menu in WordPress and assign it to this area so you can have social network links (or any other links you want separate from your main navigation). Y

You can create a new menu by going to Appearance >> Menu.

Best practice is to keep it short for the left side of the site, and assign it a unique name. Don’t forget to save your changes before leaving this screen!

Once you do that, then go into Templates >> Saved Templates and edit the Elementor template titled “Hero w/ Social Media”.

Right click the side menu in the visual editor and choose “Edit Nav Menu”. On the left side, click where it says Menu and choose your new menu from the drop down choices. Your new menu will show up in the visual editor. Remember to save your changes and view the front-end to see your new menu on the left side.

BEST PRACTICES

  • Keep this side menu short so it fits best next to the built in hero/header image.
  • It does not have to be social links, you can use it for external links to favorite websites or anything else that applies to the subject of your business. Even links to categories in your blog would work well!
